The Lumbricus terrestris has a closed circulatory system, which circulates the blood and
pumps it at a sufficient speed. The blood is enclosed within vessels; meanwhile the blood is separated from alternative body tissues. The intestinal fluids are isolated through a confined network of blood vessels; the circulation of the blood flows in a perpetual fixed course. The blood is supplied to the organs through three vessels known as the aortic arches, the ventral blood vessels and the dorsal blood vessels. Near the head are located five aortic arches, which act as the hearts in order to pump blood around the body.
